Get Closer with Head & Shoulders

I was recently invited to a Head & Shoulders event. I thought it would be just another dreary event but it actually turned out to be a wonderful learning experience for me.
The event was actually about the hair fall problem that everybody goes through. But it provided new insight on it along with a knowledge sharing session & a live demo & personal consultations!
The event was hosted by Dr. Jasmine Karsono P&G beauty principal scientist, Singapore & Coleen Khan, an ex supermodel turned celebrity stylist.

Head & Shoulders was founded in 1950. It is the first & best selling anti dandruff shampoo.
Almost all of us have suffered from dandruff & hair fall at some point of time but did you know that the two are actually related?
Dandruff is actually caused by the Malassezia Globosa fungus eating the sebum on our scalp. Our scalp gets dry & develops dandruff because it is irritated by the fungus. Now how is that related to hairfall? The scalp irritation leads to bad hair quality with less shine & flexibility. When we have dandruff, out scalp itches & we scratch. And the repeated scratching coupled with the fact that the hair is already damaged with the irritated scalp causes it to break faster. That's how the two are related.
Also, have you always wondered why there are different men's & women's shampoos? I know I have. I couldn't think of any reason apart from a different fragrance.
Well this too was explained. Women generally have longer hair. So we more conditioning as we need to keep out hair looking nice with not too many flyaways etc.
But men have shorter hair. They need to have hair that is light & has volume without a conditioner weighing it down. So that is the main difference between the new for him & for her Head & Shoulders shampoos. Both keep hair dandruff free, clean & nourish but the women's has more conditioning elements than the men's.
Also the most important point to take back is that dandruff cannot be cured, per se. It is ongoing, & can be kept away with the use of a good anti dandruff shampoo.
I am happy that the new shampoos by them are tough on dandruff but overall mild. Though I do have a little dandruff I was apprehensive about using anti dandruff shampoo because I have hair that is rebonded & colored. But that's not a problem now & I'm going to switch to head & shoulders for now & see how it works for me.
Ending with a random photo of the live pasta bar. Because I couldn't resist.
